In the words of the Sogay Song
I is back :D
Jin Zhen Tou! Couldn't sleep at 5am so I decided to do some research on Duty Free prices (stupid sg dun have any price list online I can compare. Tmd) and found this funny webbie. Sleeping in Airports Basically ang mohs post about why where they choose to sleep in Changi Airport. Har har. And we say we are cheapskate. Oh well. Now I know Changi Airport is at least good for something. *snigger* Edit: Some quotes! "November 2003 - If you have to crash @ sin go to the second floor, and by the pub there is a pool table (go figure) sleep on the floor, has comfy carpet, quiet, and the cleaners cleaned around me. In the morning it can be a lil noisy, so ear plugs do the trick. dan" Contributed by danpeterca (Added 02 APR 04) The winner is this next person. I was laughing like mad when I read it. Only ang mohs are so boh liao. "November 2003 (International) - Hey.......if you are travelling through Singapore changi airport beware of the showers! I was desperate for a nice hot shower after the 13 hour flight from London when i travelled to Sydney last November. I cant remember the price of the showers but I think it was 12 Singy dollars. For this they give you a towel and shower gel. On entering the showers I noticed they were very very clean, but over the pa system was this constant recording of a bird cheeping and chirping! I thought some bird was stuck in the room so I was looking for it! I got in the shower and it was bloody freezing......would it go hot?? Would it hell. The cheeping bird was driving me mental by this point as well!So combined with a singing bird and a freezing cold shower it was a pretty bad experience!Nicest airport I've ever been in though......" Contributed by Davo (Added 01 JAN 04) Cheeping bird. LOL! (Plus I think he doesn't know that you may need to shift the tap to the side for hotwater or something. I'm not too sure myself about the shower there anyway. Har har)
Should be back on Sunday/Monday. Going back to sg for the hols! Seeya in a bit when my net connection is up (whoever reads my blog!) CHICKEN RICE!
Read the article here. As per my previous post, apparently they care enough for their soliders but not for their students. Har har. But when can they do? Recall all the students? o.O Anyway stupid bus services went down again. So stuck and can't go to school for my appointment. Sigh
Well if you really think about it, executing him may be all nice and good, but I wondered if the gahmen has considered the repercussions on Singaporeans studying/living in Australia.
What would happen if there are assaults on Singaporeans! Or attacks by Burmese immigrants living in Aussie on Singaporeans?
The likelihood of couse, may be miniscule, but not one to be ruled out. You hear alot of things about the dangers of Chinatown in Brisbane at night. Roaming asian gangs. *shudder*
The ancient curse applies: May you live in interesting times.
Meh, I'm gonna be from Indonesia, cannot because of Bali, China, can't do the accented English, so that rules out Taiwan too! (not the chinese accented english. It's the wierd accent that I have no idea of what it is). I also can't be Malaysian (cos too close for comfort), or Indonesian Chinese (cos my name doesn't sound anyway Indonesian Chinese-like.
Or any of the other races around the region for that matter.
I'm screwed.
Ok time to brush up my British accent.
Read the Article Here. Choice quotes: Despite the pariah status of the military junta-controlled country as a flagrant breacher of human rights and the engine-room of the notorious opium golden triangle, Singapore has long been one of its key trading partners And for more than a decade, the Singapore government has shrugged off evidence that some of its business backing has gone directly to Burma's drug kingpins, specifically infamous heroin trafficker Lo Hsing Han. The links between Singapore and the drug lords of Burma began to surface in the mid-1990s. In 1996, it emerged that the Singapore Government Investment Corporation had co-invested with Lo in the Traders and Shangri-La hotels in Rangoon through its 21.5 per cent stake in the $US39 million ($52 million) Myanmar Fund. The contradiction of the Singapore Government executing those caught with more than 27g of heroin while doing business with the drug masters is not lost on some in the island state of 4 million people. Last but not least, Mr Chee Soon Juan opens his mouth again: "If the Singapore Government truly feels drug abuse is a scourge on society, it would not just want to catch and hang these small-time peddlers," he said. "You would want to go for the big fish and go to what the source is. Press the Government on what it's doing in Burma to stop this production of opium and heroin." Truth or just biased reporting? I can't help but get the impression the slant of the whole article in relation to the hanging of an Australian man. Or am I just reading too much hmm?
From Uzhu: nex time pls kindly slower your clock, and Not KICK PPL From Uzhu: it onli show that ya a incorrigible person, and wat a LOUSY CLAN From Uzhu: change you custom lauguage maybe you will see them From Uzhu: you can do so, incorrigble, immatureed kid Man, if you wanna insult or argue with someone, at least, spell and type properly instead of the abovementioned crap. Kthxbye.
I've decided to drop the Ze. Was getting irritating to meh. Heh. I wanna be a taxi driver in Australia cos... Just look at how much the charges are. SG is if i remember correctly 10c waiting time and 10c per 240m or something. 'Tis damn gay. The next picture shows the fare halfway to our destination: OMFG!!! That's like barely 7km from the city... The last pic is when we reached our destination: This would most likely cost like $10 in SG. Bloody hell. On the plus sides, there's no extra surcharges and the service here is soooo friendly. Cheers~ edit: i remembered the distance. 240m for 10cents Here is 1.38 for 1 Km and 60cents per min. Gay!
Maybe there was, and maybe there isn't, but you wouldn't be able to find any references to it in the media at the moment this post is published. One reason, I believe, would be to prevent any mass panicking... It was 12:05. The bus was late, and a middle length queue had already formed. I joined the queue and read a book while waiting. This was an occasion I was glad I didn't bring my earphones along today. Suddenly, a PA was made. I thought it was just a normal routine announcement when I caught the words... "all services are currently delayed till further notice." Ok, that got me abit worried. One Aussie auntie went to the information counter to ask for further information, and was told nothing. She tend started telling everyone that they refused point blank to tell her any more information. I talked to the auntie in front of me, and we agreed it would most probably be a bomb scare.
I decided to take a walk around and said goodbye to the auntie. While browsing some mags and then checking out the PC games. (no pirated stuff. so sad. :( ) As I just returned to the bus stop (which is under a mall like in Sengkang), the second annoucement came. "buses have stopped services and the buses had been told to drop off all passengers at their CURRENT location."
This was definately a bomb threat. Oddly enough, the queue had vanished and I rejoined a much shorter line. (YAY!) The auntie was now 1 person ahead of me, and I took out my book to read again. She was talking to the person now in front of me and I couldn't help eavesdropping. The auntie said that the trains were also not working.
At around 12:35pm, they announced yet again that the buses were now working, but some services are still not ready. They also said that the bus I was taking, was not available. Nabeh!
Meanwhile the place was getting quite crowded and despite the aircon it was getting stuffy. The busbay was virtually empty, though a few buses drove by to offload their passengers and off again without picking any. After close to 1 hour of total waiting time, the bus finally came at 1pm. For a lunchtime bus, it was packed to the max, and as the bus went on the route, you could see the crowds at bustops around the city waiting for their buses.
I was kinda worried though. What if they did not find any bomb because the bomb was cunningly concealed? And then I had the thought, that I was on a freaking bus and it being packed and what if this stupid bus was the one with the bomb?
Luckily, nothing happened...else I wouldn't be typing this no?
If I get more news and stuff (official reports), I'll post it here.
Cheers for now~
edit: News reports have started trickling in like only 2 hours after.. Courier Mail
For a internet news source, Crikey.com.au only reported this at 5pm Brisbane time.
That's like almost all the news I can find at the moment. Geez
ATTN: You need the Xvid Codec to view the Putfile.com or bear with my sucky geocities.com hosting (unless someone can tell me of a streaming host.) get the Xvid Codec at http://downloads.xvid.org/downloads/xvidcore-1.1.0-beta2.zip Inspired by Power 98's long long time ago mp3 about Hokkien Star Wars, I've decided to erm make the mp3 come to life in a video... Took me awhile to figure out how to rip only one small portion of what I wanted from my Star Wars Trilogy DVD Box Set (yes I know I'm a nerd), and then the better part of the morning and afternoon to edit the sound and music and edit the 4min plus chapter into a 42 sec clip. I've uploaded a XviD format over at Putfile.com ===> here. (it's 5 megs or so, be patient!) DUE TO MY GEOCTIES ACCOUNT RUNNING OUT OF BANDIWITH TMD SO FAST: HERE'S THE WMV VERSION ON PUTFILE IF YOU CANNOT ACCESS THE XVID VERSION. Wmv Version Here Special thanks to Kein for his erm time listening to me kaopeh about DVD rippers and at least erm putting one little finger of effort to helping me find software. Heh. To the crew of power98 who did the mp3. Power lah! Lemme know what you think ok? Cheers! Edit 3: Since I want to keep this on top for awhile, those people who tell me that they have seen this before, please provide a link. As far as I know, only the mp3 exists. Intensive googling has gotten nothing so far. I would like to watch another to compare also. Let me know yah? Edit 4: Tucked away in one bloody obscure corner of the internet is the other version: http://kokuhen.clawz.com/clips/starwars.rmvb. While he uses the more of the original mp3 itself, I didn't like one part of his editing. So erm.. go watch both and tell me what you think!

Yah sorry for the lack of anything remotely like a message. Just finished one exam. In the words of the extremely wise Kit... it was a "cheebye" exam. Har Har. I'm also working on a very special freelance project. I'm not getting paid, though I hope to get paid in laughter. (Cos it's funny not cos it sucks like hell ok!) Should be done by tomorrow once I get the editing done. Clue: It's a video! Cheers
Other then the fact I totally suck at this. (I played like 10mins for level 1...) http://digitalinkart.rmrlabz.com/attachments/1069801732-moSMB3.wmv Is always good to watch again. This guy is crazy.
